- Statbar is a 32-bit OS/2 application which provides a lot of system
- information in a very small area. Using several threads, Statbar displays
- the time, a swap-file status light, and a switching view of time since boot,
- free disk space on the boot drive, and total free memory (real + virtual).
- To use Statbar, I recommend putting into either your startup.cmd file
- or shadowing it's icon into your Startup folder. Statbar will then
- provide information about your system all of the time. Statbar is very lean
- on system usage. It balances the need for current information with the need
- to maintain a usable system under stress. Statbar typically does not affect
- the system in any measurable capacity.
- Statbar is fairly easy to use. It just sits there and reports information.
- Statbar is configurable, but does not have a menu bar. Statbar uses pop-up
- menus for accessing help, options, and the about box. The pop-up menu is
- activated by clicking on Statbar with mouse button two (this is the right mouse
- button in a default OS/2 installation). From this menu, one can access the
- options notebook (to adjust program parameters), get direct access to the
- help file, or exit the program.
